I am feeling slightly better today, well other than the fact that I am doing a VERY good impression of a raccoon *note to self - get more sleep* so I can now squee properly about the weekend.
I got the train Friday lunchtime and it was fairly empty but of course me being me I get some weirdo in the seats across from me who decides at one point to unpack his dirty socks and sniff them WTF!! Other than that the train journey was fine I listened to the ipod nearly the whole way (Steve Carlson anyone/) and read a bit. Got to Kings Cross on time and hopped on the tube which according to the journey planner was a 40 minute journey - 10 minutes later I arrive at my station and panic that I have somehow managed to get on the wrong tube and am not where I am supposed to be. Nope just the National Rail planner being useless (haven't I learnt yet?). By this point I is desperate to go to the loo and had to pay 30p. Yes 30p! I must be getting old cos that is just ridiculous and if I hadn't have been desperate I'd have waited *brandishes walking stick at British Rail* Wandered around aimlessly for a bit as I'd forgotten how huge Victoria station is and had no idea where my platform was *sheepish grin* eventually I found it, well actually I asked a guard where it was. That train journey didn't take long and soon Lis was on her way to pick me up from the station. It was soooo nice to see Lis again I has missed her *hugs*
We were gonna watch HMT cos CK is just adorable in it (ignoring the fact that he may well have gotten splinters from Estella Warren) and I don't mind Michael Weatherly either but we were distracted by the naked chest of Matthew McConaughey and so watched Fool's Gold. Donald Sutherland rocks, Ray Winstone should NOT try and do American accents, Matthew McConaughey never needs to wear a shirt but even manages to make neon tie dye look good, Kate Hudson is skinny, skinny, skinny, looks like her mum and needs her ears pinning back (miaow!).
Then it was off to bed so that we were ready for TIH. Poor Brandon got kicked out of his bedroom and had to share with one of his brothers so I could have his bed.
We got up reasonably early and a taxi picked us up at 9.45 cos John was being a git and didn't want to drive us to Kingston.
We were incredibly girly and spent the whole morning wandering around the shopping centre and buying bits and pieces. But contrary to my thinking that my flats would be comfortable for a day of wandering they rubbed all the skin off my heels *ouch* and gave me a blister on my little toe that was nearly as big as my toe *would stamp on the shoes but my feet hurt*
We stuffed our faces in Pizza Hut after having fits of giggles upon finding you can order a "Hot Texan" from their menu - sadly we thought this probably wasn't the kind of hot Texan we were looking for.
We wandered a little bit more until Ang phoned to say she was parking the car and would be at the Odeon in a bit so we made our way to the Odeon to meet her.

I finally got to meet
badfalcon and
bellasianna</lj> *waves*
Ok so TIH - well it wasn't as cheesy as I thought it was gonna be (ok so yeah, slightly cheesy but hey). Priestly is HOT. Love the piercings, the tats, the hair, the clothes ok fair enough all of him ;OP Not testing for Jensen's acting skills but then did anyone really expect it to be? I NEVER EVER wanted to see that much of Danneel and I am now scarred *shudders* and hello I can see your implants *bleurgh*. Sean Patrick Flanery helllloooooooo *drools muchly*. Jordan Belfi as Fuzzy was soo cute I want one. We are obviously just waaaay to girlie because me, Lis, Ang and Janine were all crying *hangs head in shame* - Fuzzy & Jen = girlies bawling. Have to agree though that "be who you are and you will be loved for it" is good but if that's the case why make one of the characters change completely just so they can get a date with the girl they like - contradiction much?
The Q&A with David and Alice was next and Alice is just awesome I love her. Unfortunately neither me or Lis could afford to buy and poster and have it signed by them *cries*
So we headed back to Lis' when John eventually came to pick us up (and moaned the whole way home, he was worse than the kids) although it was hilarious cos he's always slagging off us listening to Christian's stuff but he put the CD on in the car and all 4 of the boys (aged 10, 8, 6 and 4) were singing along and knew the words to Drinkin to Drink and Happy Man hahaha.
We were still stuffed from Pizza Hut so just vegged out and watch TV - again we were bad and there was no CK viewing we watched The Holiday (still not entirely sure what people see in Jude Law apart from nice eyes). We watched a bit of the Abyss but were so knackered we couldn't watch til the end and had to go to bed.
Sunday came way too quickly and it was p*ssing down *sulks* so we just hung around the house. Plus I had to go and catch the train at 1.30 so didn't really have time to do much. It was horrible leaving I really didn't want to come back to Hull (who would?). Got to Kings Cross and had to wait half an hour for my train on which I couldn't get a bloody seat and had to stand in the corridor (with the smell of the toilet for company *gags* for nearly the whole journey! I sat on my suitcase for a bit but it was really uncomfortable so I gave up and stood until someone got off at Doncaster and I managed to nab one of those little seats right by the door. Why oh why do they insist on selling more tickets than they have seats? Wouldn't matter if it was a short journey but over two and a half hours isn't what I'd call a short train journey *sighs*. Anyway got home at a reasonable time and Tito was really pleased to see me and didn't know whether to run round the house like a loon or lick me to death when he'd finished sniffing me.
All in all it was a fab weekend. The only downside was coming back - being back down south just made me realise even more that that's where I want to be and not up here.
But the plan has changed and I am now not looking for a permanent job up here I'm temping and saving as much money as I possibly can so that I can go back down South as soon as I can manage *yay*.
Work today was, well, mind numbingly boring! I know I took a position that was not at the level I'm used to (wow how big headed does that sound) but I thought it would be better to be working that to be sat at home doing nothing. Well it is from a money point of view but god I am so bored! There is only so much filing you can do before you want to slam your head in the filing cabinet drawer. They keep saying how busy they are well they may well be but I'm not so send some my way. I appreciate that if they're busy they don't want to be stopping every 5 minutes to show me how to do stuff but if they'd done that last week then I could have just been getting on with stuff and taking some of the load from them. Oh well nevermind I'm just thinking of the money and hoping tomorrow will be better and that today was just PMT and weekend blues.
Oh and agencies - are they all useless? They haven't asked for my P45 surely they need to to sort out wages? and I've explained that my P45 is in my married name but have a certified copy of my change of name deed that they can have and I have informed the tax office but iof course had no reply. So I'm now concerned about my wages - I don't want there to be any problems because by Friday I am gonna hav run out of money and will need my wages otherwise the car will be running on vapour.
Ok so as is the norm for me I have rambled, probably incoherently *blushes* and will shut up now *g*
Plus the Tito is pawing me cos he wants attention and wants his belly rubbed - my dog is worse than a child lol.
And apologise for the size of this post but for some reason LJ will not let me put this behind a cut *kicks it*
